The Tank Museum, BOVINGTON

Following on from last year's very successful attendance, the GWS is at 'Tankfest' again - we are providing tank crews for both the British Mk. IV Tank & the German A7V. The event takes place 29th & 30th June.

Bradford Pals Memorial Service

Members of the GWS YORK & LANCASTERS Unit will be in attendance at the BRADFORD PALS Memorial service, Civic Square, BRADFORD. This is the Society's annual parade in commemoration of the sacrifice of the Bradford Pals at their memorial in the city centre.

Passchendaele Memorial Museum

The re-dedication of the museum in ZONNEBEKE will be supported in strength by the GWS, who will field both British & German troops at this international living-history event. The Sunday morning will also see our traditional march to TYNE COT Cemetery, where we shall hold our usual memorial service to those who fell on the Ypres Salient. The event takes place 13th & 14th July.

Black Country Living Museum

BLACK COUNTRY LIVING MUSEUM, West Midlands August 10th & 11th - This will be an 'all units' national event with living history presentations by GWS members. The Annual General Meeting of the GWS will be held on the Saturday evening at this event.

Fulwood Barracks - Preston

Heritage Open Day at the splendid Lancashire Infantry Museum, located within historic Fulwood Barracks. GWS YORK & LANCASTER Tommies will be in attendance, as usual, with training activities & displays to offer an insight into the everyday life of the Great War British infantryman.

Tower of London

The GWS' annual event at this most prestigious of the Historic Royal Palaces, portraying the men of the Royal Fusiliers at the outbreak of the Great War in August 1914. For the first time, our infantry camp will be in the extensive Moat of the Tower & our demonstrations will include the ever-popular firepower displays. The 24th General Hospital will also be on-hand to demonstrate the second stage in the pathway of care for wounded troops. The event takes place on the 28th and 29th September.
