Bradford Pals Memorial

Members of the GWS YORK & LANCASTERS Unit will be in attendance at the BRADFORD PALS Memorial service, Civic Square, BRADFORD. This is the Society's annual parade in commemoration of the sacrifice of the Bradford Pals at their memorial in the city centre.

Old Warden - Bedfordshire

Sunday 5th July - the Shuttleworth Collection's Military Pageant, with Great War Commemoration Airshow. Our RFC types, both officers and Other Ranks, will be camped out on the airfield giving our usual living-history displays and kit presentations in support of the venue's superb collection of original Great War aircraft.

Armed Forces Day - Preston

Armed Forces Day Flag Market Preston 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. A small contingent of GWS members will be supporting our friends from The Lancashire Infantry Museum.

Old Warden - Bedfordshire

Sunday 2nd August - the Shuttleworth Collection's 'Wings and Wheels' event. Our RFC section will once again be in tented accommodation on the aerodrome, working with both the aircraft and motor vehicles of the Great War era.

RFC Stow Maries - Essex

Saturday 15th / Sunday 16th August - this is the World War One Aviation Heritage Trust's fly-in event at STOW MARIES (ww1aviationheritagetrust.co.uk). Some of the GWS' RFC types will be in residence in the aircrew Ready Room for the duration of the event.

Belton House - Lincs

August 22nd / 23rd - at the historic National Trust property of Belton House, to commemorate the Centenary of the Machine Gun Corps (MGC). Belton was the Great War training centre for the MGC and we shall be providing a period infantry camp, as well as our General Hospital display. Our arena demonstrations will focus upon the British infantry and the use of the Vickers MMG (Medium Machine Gun).
